Watami Japanese Casual Restaurant at Causeway Point

This was our first time to patronize Watami.

At Watami Restaurant, it was quite convenient for customers to get the queue number from the machine.

It was around 7.30 pm, the restaurant already fully packed.

Chicken Rice Ball at S$3.80
Food Rating: 3/5

Rice ball tasted bland and rice tasted slightly too hard.

Tokyo Gyudon at S$11.80
Food Rating: 4/5

Sliced beef with half boiled egg and preserved prickles, tasted delicious but slightly too salty.

Watami Ramen at S$14.80
Food Rating : 3/5

I would said the Ramen was common and soup base flavor too light.

Tonpeiyaki at S$10.80
Food Rating: 4/5

Omelette wrapped with cheese, ham and onion. Maybe not everyone will like the soft egg texture. Nevertheless, this dish really tasted good.

Fisherman's Sushi at S$19.80

For Sushi lover, this set meal will suit your palate. Fresh sliced salmon and tuna fish meat, with sliced cucumber and prawn roes to give the refreshing taste.

Anago Sushi at S$7.30

Chocolate Parfait at S$7.30

Having dessert is the most effective way to reduce your stress and make a woman smile.

Maccha Parfait at S$7.30

The service provided in this restaurant was poor. Service staffs were not attentive and very impatience if you are slow with your order.

As for the food wise, most of the dishes served overall are good and ambiance is still consider cozy.

Want He Lou at 65 Maude Road

Today, we are going to recommend to you about this restaurant named Wan He Lou, located at 65 Maude Road (opposite Jalan Besar Plaza).

When you step into this restaurant, the whole displays give you a kind of cozy feeling. Even though this restaurant look a bit small but all tables are neatly display.

We were here around 11.30 am. Maybe the restaurant just open 11 am, there was only 2 tables were occupied.

Menu

Fresh Vegetables Juice at S$3.50
Food Rating : 5/5

You must try this glass of Vegetables Juice (mixture of Lettuce, pineapple and Plum juice). Juice tasted refreshing with combination flavor of natural sweetness and sour plum flavor. Initially we thought juice was mixed with Guava Juice but later found out that the sour taste come from the sour plum.

Chinese Tea - one pot for S$5.00
Food Rating: 2/5

We have ordered for a pot of Chrysanthemum Tea but the first pot,  water was not hot and we request to replace for another pot. The Chrysanthemum Tea tasted slightly too bland, maybe due to this restaurant is using instant Tea packet to brew the tea.

Macadamia Nuts at S$2.00
Food Rating: Neutral

This plate of macadamia nuts already placed on the table when we arrive. For me, I will preferred to skip this snack if I know we are going to pay for the nuts.

Soft Shell Crab at S$5.90 per piece (minimum order 2 pieces & above)
Food Rating : 5/5

I can only described the Soft Shell Crab tasted really good with crispy crunch for each bite.

This dish definitely worth the value to order. Even though this dish is not my liking but I just cannot resist the temptation to finish one piece.

Seafood Gyoza (Small - 6 pieces) at S$12.00
Food Rating: 4/5

Seafood Gyoza's filling tasted delicious and juicy, the Gyoza skin was crispy but not greasy at all.

Kurobuta Pork Meat (Small) at S$14.90
Food Rating: 5/5

This is one of the Signature dish that I would strongly recommend you to try. Meat was soft and tender which is the key factor as a signature dish.

In addition, the marinated strong flavor that you just cannot resist to grab for another piece.

Lobster Porridge at S$29.90
Food Rating : 5/5

This bowl of lobster porridge really will boost your appetite. Even though the menu stated serving is for 2 pax but the serving actually is sufficient for 4 pax.

The lobster soup tasted really delicious and with natural sweetness.  The soup base used was cooked for more than 6 hours.

I will strongly recommend you to try!

Cold Cucumber with Ginger (Small) at S$5.90
Food Rating: 4/5

Crunchy cucumber mixed with the ginger sauce. This appetizer dish tasted refreshing and combination of sweetness with a mild taste of spiciness.

Petai Fried Rice at S$9.90
Food Rating : 4/5

Fried rice tasted with mild spiciness, this dish is more suitable for Adult. Rice serving should be enough for 2 pax.

Dried Shrimp with Four Season bean at S$9.90
Food Rating: 2/5

We were quite disappointed to order this dish. Four Season Bean tasted bland, hard and dried. Maybe this restaurant can consider to use another type of Four Season Bean to cook this dish.

Fried Vermicelli at S$7.90
Food Rating: 4/5

The fried Vermicelli tasted delicious, especially with the ingredients of fried egg, sliced octopus, sliced pork meat and vegetable.

YeeFu Noodle at S$7.90
Food Rating : 3/5

The YeeFu noodle tasted bland even with the gravy. The ingredients used are not up to our liking.

Crispy Lotus Roots at S$19.90 (Medium)
Food Rating: 4/5

This is another signature dish, deep fried lotus roots cut in thin slices and cooked with salted egg. It will be advisable just to order the small size order, which will be sufficient for 4 to 5 pax.

As for the Medium size order will be more for 6-8 pax.
